ABOUT THE CLUB
On 15th November trustees from the Boroughbridge British Legion Club purchased a plot of land and buildings on the side of the River Tutt. This had previously been the site of a methodist chapel/Public Hall which was destroyed by fire.
The Boroughbridge British Legion Club continued to run from the site until 1972 when it became a working men’s club (CIU affiliated) and was renamed as Boroughbridge Social Club.
The “Club” continues to retain strong links with the local branch of the British Legion raising money for the Poppy Day appeal and providing refreshments following the Remembrance Sunday parade, held in nearby Hall Square.
The Club currently has 500 members and will be celebrating its 100th year anniversary on 15th November 2026. To celebrate we will be holding a range of events during 2026 with a centenary weekend taking place 13th - 15th November. So become a member, or re-new your subs and become part of the history of this fantastic club which is proud to have been at the heart of Boroughbridge for 100 years.
